Default Microsoft are left confused with HD DVD

The day before Toshiba announced withdrawing their HD DVD recordable format, Microsoft had said if it did happen, it would not affect sales of their Xbox 360 gaming consoles.

Now with the HD DVD format officially declared dead, Microsoft is all but left in a lurch.

Arch rival Sony's PS3 has an built-in Blu-ray player, and with HD DVD no longer viable, Microsoft has to find a suitable high-definition alternative to HD DVD for for the Xbox 360 Gaming Console.

According to other reports, Microsoft has claimed that it's too early to say whether they will continue to support the HD DVD format on their Xbox 360 consoles. Others claim Microsoft has already had discussions with several OEM manufacturers of media centers and the majority of them have said they would be moving to Blu-ray media centers within the next month.
