A
Blu-Ray drive for the Xbox 360 is inevitable. At least, if you want to use it as a next-gen movie machine as well as a games console. Still, with Microsoft claiming there’s no chance it’ll happen we’re stuck with HD-DVD.
The latest rumours, being peddled by Digitimes, claim that Lite-On has been contracted to manufacture a built-in Blu-Ray drive for the Xbox 360, with the website citing “industry sources” to back up its assertion.
Apparently, Microsoft will receive its first shipment of Blu-Ray drives in the “second half” of 2008, and has plans for a more efficient, less power-hungry version of the console too.
