Default Blu-Ray copy protection hacked!!

Get set for dodgy Blu-Rays to go on sale in your local pub: a team of hackers just announced they’ve smashed Sony’s BD+ anti-piracy system, letting unscrupulous types copy Blu-Ray media disks.

Slysoft, the hackers responsible for red faces in the Blu-Ray camp, say their new AnyDVD software can now crack even the heardest copy protection and back up films from Sony’s format onto blank discs.

Sony reckons it can update the protection measures though, with the BD+ system designed to be adaptable to piracy. Sounds good, except Slysoft say they’re prepared for a battle, and can crack anything that’s thrown their way.
