We are sorry if we got your hopes up, but blame PC World! Their optimistic reports last week that Sony’s PlayStation update would let us rip Blu-Ray media films to our PSP had us as excited as anyone, but sadly it’s not to be.

The console’s latest software is now available to download worldwide, and while it won’t let you rip a Blu-Ray film to your portable console, it does deliver lots of new features.

Amongst the most exciting extras is the ability to play back BD-Live titles those are interactive Blu-Ray films, in case you didn’t know.
