Sony 's latest technology advancement in recordable CD is Double Density. Providing capacity up to 1.3GB, DD CD-R and DD CD-RW discs are ideal for system back up or large file storage. The new drives will require double density discs to achieve the 1.3GB storage capacity. Standard CD-R and CD-RW discs can be used on double density drives as well. CD-R Music discs are designed expressly for music or audio recording, Sony CD-R music discs provide the excellent sound quality of pre-recorded compact discs, and the ability to hear them on conventional home, auto and portable CD players.
